Best Boutique Hotel in Melaka, hotel review of Treasures Hotel & Suites

Malacca, or Melaka, in Malaysia is a popular tourist destination among locals and foreigners (especially Singaporeans). At weekends most of the narrow roads lined with colonial designed buildings are jammed up with cars! Yes! its also my favourite weekend getaway from Kuala Lumpur as it is only about 2 hours drive.
My biggest concern normally is where to stay when on vacations. Well, recently I found this gem, the Treasures Hotels & Suites.

This 4 star hotel boutique hotel has the nostalgic old charm of historical Melaka. Decorated in old colorful wood and bamboo, it takes you back two centuries and yet it has all the modern facilities of comfort.

Convenience of 24 hours reception with ever friendly service.

Every floor was also decorated in ambiance with bamboo and old recycled wood theme. Security of each floor is well taken care of.

We need to swipe our room card to enter our floor after coming out of the lift.

The bedroom is spacious, well lit and clean. Yes, cleanliness is my priority when sleeping in hotels and I give this Treasures Hotel & Suites a 100% for cleanliness.

In the bedroom, there are writing table, coffee maker machine, water jug, TV, free WIFI and a spacious bathroom with bathtub, shower and a separate toilet, awesome! Why awesome? Because, we can have the privacy of doing our business while the other partner is talking a bath ^-^

I particularly like the open court yard with skylight dining area. It resembles the old Baba Nyonya house of open court yard in the middle of the house. Breakfast and lunch has a wide spread of local and western dishes.

For breakfast, there are nasi lemak, pongteh chicken (local peranakan dish), bacon, baked beans, fry mixed vegetables, grilled tomatoes, fried meehoon, rendang chicken and hard boiled eggs. I love the array of local fruits such as  watermelon, rambutans, jackfruit, papaya and also local cake delicacies such as 9-layer kueh. Menu varies from day to day.

Dinner was equally appetizing with local famous chicken rice balls with steamed white chicken, curry prawns, omelette, curry Ikan Pari, and Pie Tee (another peranakan dish).

The Hot Steam Spa and Swimming pool is at the rooftop.

There are deck chairs for you to laze around in the sun after a nice dip in the pool!

Location is fantastic as its walking distance to most tourist spots and 10 minutes walk to Melaka town. About less than 1 km to Princess Hang Li Poh's Well, Church of St Francis Xavier, The Stadthuys, Sam Poh Kong Temple, and Jonker street. Jonker street is a must visit and do try Malaka's famous Chicken rice ball, Cendol Gula Melaka, tasty local pineapple tarts and shop for antique and souvenirs there. There is also a car park lot behind this hotel.

Thank you Treasures Hotel & Suites for hosting Tourism Malaysia's Media Challenge 2.0. Personally, I will come again with my family and relatives when I visit Melaka in future.
