JODD Fairs, New Night Market, Bangkok

As the pandemic is over, more people are traveling overseas. Thailand is my neighboring country, so naturally my first overseas trip when countries open up is to go to Bangkok, Thailand. There are many changes in Bangkok, especially with the addition of new attractions for tourists in Thailand.

Night markets are one of the major attractions in Bangkok, I used to go to the famous Chatuchak night market before the pandemic. But now there is this newly opened popular night market in Bangkok city, called JODD Fairs located at Rama 9. JODD Fairs Night Market opened at the end of November 2021, officially replacing the former popular Ratchada Train Night Market. It is huge, and opens daily from 4 pm to 12 midnight.

There are over 600 stalls, selling street hawker food to clothes. There are tables in the middle between the rows of street food stands for people to sit and eat, and also stalls with tents housing their own tables and seats for dining.

Most of the popular local food sold here are glutinous mango rice, skewers of cuttlefish, seafood, BBQ beef, hotdog, Grilled oysters, scallops, and various types of Thai desserts.

Diaw Maekhlong

The highlights and a must-have here is Leng Zabb or Spicy Pork 'Moutain', an iconic dish created by Diaw Maekhlong. It is a pile of spicy pork ribs served with a bowl of hot rice. Check out the Facebook of this dish at Mae Klong Noodle & Leng Saap.
