Turtle Alley, Trengganu, Visit Malaysia

Terengganu, a state in Malaysia is famous for the sightings of  leatherback turtles laying eggs on its beaches. A state on the East coast of Malaya lined with long beautiful  beaches facing the South China Sea, this state offers pristine beaches, rich cultural architectural buildings, laid back villages and local cuisines. I visited Trengganu recently and was amazed by the effort of the local government in transforming and modernising the capital, Kuala Terengganu. (I have stayed for 5 years in this state in the 80's).

Here, I will start off with this Turtle Alley situated in town with one exit at the Chinatown and the other facing the I-city walkway.

Many art works and information on various types of turtles along this Turtle Alley

Oh yes, we must say No to turtle eggs, as incidentally my brother saw some fresh turtle eggs are being sold in the local market that morning we went for breakfast there.

I am very happy that this is a citizen's effort in collaboration with the Turtle conservation society of Malaysia, Kampung Cina Coop and Young Malaysian Movement Terengganu to educate and create awareness of the importance of turtle conservation in our country.

This is my first part of Visit Terengganu blog. Stay tuned for more...
