Cameron Lavender Garden, Cameron Highlands, Malaysia

Cameron Highlands! Oh yes, what comes to mind is the Cameron tea plantations and strawberries. Cameron Highlands is only about 3 and half hours drive away from Kuala Lumpur, a highland town that has cool weather. There are many attractions up in the highlands with many strawberry picking farms, natural scenic tea plantations where you can enjoy a cuppa of tea overlooking the panoramic view of tea plantations. On my recent trip to Cameron Highlands, I discovered another awesome attraction full of lavender flowers! It's called Cameron Lavender, situated on the way down towards Ipoh town from Brinchang town.

The entrance fee is RM8.00 for adult and RM5.00 for children.

With the entrance looking small, I was skeptical that the entrance fee is on the high side. But I was wrong, as it is big with cemented  terraced hillslopes of various types of flowers and well designed photo taking sites. You can even pick strawberries inside here! So this is another chance if you miss the earlier strawberry picking farms.

It was opened in 2013, and I consider myself lucky to be able to see large blooms of lavender when I was there two weeks ago. I have been to New Zealand searching for lavender farms and was disappointed as it was not in season there then. So I would highly recommend this Cameron Lavender and a not to be miss attraction if you are going to Cameron Highlands.

I was dazzled by the colorful blossoms of gerberas, camellias, roses, peonies, begonia, daisies and others.

I saw some tourist eating fresh strawberries inside. Oh, so this is where they get their strawberries.

There is a gift shop selling lavender products, some small stalls and a cafe selling strawberry shake.

My verdict, the RM8 I paid for the entrance fee is worth it.

Cameron highlands has a cooler weather, so the popular food for dinner is steamboat. I found charcoal steamboat sold here very interesting. Here is my write up about it: Charcoal steamboat in Cameron Highlands
