Open houses has become annual national level celebrations since 2001. The objective of this open house is to nurture the spirit of unity among community of various races, to boost the spirit of New Malaysia, to foster friendly relationships of leaders and citizens. This open house showcases tradition and culture, which has become one of the main tourist attraction events in Malaysia as well in recent times.

The lineup of VIPs waiting for the arrival of Deputy Prime minister

This was the first time I experience this type of massive celebration, where protocol was observed strictly. First the leaders of communities arrived, then cabinet ministers then deputy PM and lastly Prime Minister himself was the last one to arrive.

The crowd broke into thunderous cheer as our PM's car pulled in. It was an epic moment and rather difficult to snap photos as there were many main media professional photographers. I am just a mere small time blogger rushing here and there, not even knowing how to get a strategic spot. Luckily I stood on this side of the car where he is getting out, otherwise no photos.

The VVIPs were treated to a grand performance of traditional and cultural dances, the 24 Drum Troupe and Lion dance by the winning champion of World Lion Dance at China, The Muar Lion Dance Troupe.

Starting of a new year and ushering the start of 2019 Open House by the traditional Lion Dance as what most businesses and companies do for Chinese New Year

Bright, colorful and beautifully choreographed shows

For the first time, there were so many lions synchronized into a dance performance on stage! Very interesting and I like the way they dance to the catchy music. Watch the video below.

Many mobile service booths were set up for the public, such as Dental check, Health screening, PTPTN. There were also individual booths from car companies, IJMland and etc.

At this Chinese New Year Open House 2019, I was very impressed by the Free food distribution of traditional cuisines such as Chinese Fried Rice, Satay, burgers, ans many types of local cakes 'Kueh' such as Chinese Love letters, layer cake, pandan cake, steamed 'huat kueh' and many others. I went to the food distribution area at 10 pm and was surprised to see there are still food being distributed in an orderly manner. Kudos and congratulations to the organizing committee for a job well done! I was many public from all races happily carrying away boxes of mandarin oranges.
What a happy scene where all races can enjoy food together.

In conjunction with Open house, senior citizens from the Ederly Activity Centre (PAWe) had a chance to meet our leaders at Pusat Activity Warga Emas (PAWE) Seri Sikamat, Seremban. About 100 senior citizens had the chance to have afternoon tea with government leaders.

It was a terrific open house for Chinese New Year by the new goverment of Malaysia and was a huge success.
