Colorful Saloma Link Bridge, Latest attraction in Kuala Lumpur

Come enjoy the beautiful ever changing lights that's a feast for eyes! It is best to visit in the evening so that we can enjoy the colorful scenes as the bridge lights up. Open in February 2020, this is one of the latest attractions in Kuala Lumpur.

Saloma Link or Pintasan Saloma is named after Malaysia's very own legendary singer-actress. This bridge is 69m or 226 feet long, built connecting Kampung Baru to KLCC. This bridge starts at Lorong Raja Muda 3, which is nearby the Kampung Baru LRT Station and ends at Jalan Saloma, next to Public Bank tower. It is built across Klang river and over the roads. There is a purpose built slot with the facility for bicycle and a lane for people to push up their bicycles up the stairs and a lift. The construction of this Saloma Link Bridge cost RM31million (including consultancy cost) and the time taken is about 18 months.

It takes about less than 10 minutes to walk across from Kg Baru to Jln Saloma, near Public Bank but, I take about 45 minutes as I was so busy taking photos and enjoying the beautiful view.

How to get here
By car: Drive to Kampung Baru and can park at Kampung Baru LRT station. Or drive to KLCC, park at KLCC, have dinner at KLCC then walk outside towards Public Bank Tower.
By Train: Take a LRT train and stop at Kampung Baru station which is just at walking distance to this bridge.
By Grab car or Taxi is the easiest. (In Malaysia, Grab car is the easiest way to get around but you must download the Grab app in your mobile)
To walk from KLCC, go outside towards Public Bank Tower, take the lane in between some stalls beside the tower (on your left hand side of the tower if you're facing the tower from KLCC). Then you will come to Jalan Ampang Malay cemetery, walk along side it, (a little bit further down) which may be a bit dark. Don't worry, as you'll then see this sign board, Pintasan Saloma!

This is the starting point of Saloma bridge after walking from KLCC. We went there at December 2020.

Photo from the Kampung Baru side, a breathtaking view because we can see the iconic KLCC in the background and the huge yellow building is Menara Public Bank or Public Bank Tower.

This Saloma Bridge's architecture  is built upon the inspiration of the "sireh junjung" (betel nut leaf arrangement) concept, which plays an integral part of a Malay wedding.

With such splendid lights, no wonder this is the latest attraction for tourists. For both local and foreign tourists, this is also definitely an Instagram worthy place. Just stay longer and you can catch the various changes of lights, cool, isn't it?

Love taking photos inside the bridge too!

Circular rings inside the bridge and the lights inside here are also constantly changing!

This multi faceted lights can change into a beautiful Malaysian flag! Just be patient and wait a while to catch it.

Best time to visit is after 7.30pm when it gets dark. You can take dinner at KLCC or  Kampung Baru first.
Entrance is free
