Sunflower Garden @Bagan Datuk, Perak. Best photo shoot place.

I always thought Sun is part and parcel of our life, giving life on earth. Coming to Sunflower Garden, I came to appreciate the radiance of the sunflower, so magnificently big, bright yellow flower, holding up standing tall and facing the sun. The scientific name of sunflower is Helianthus, in Greek, Helios means sun and anthos means flower . 'They have very thick tall stems, large flower heads of about 12 inches (30cm) with yellow rays and seeds that can be used as food, (especially poultry) or extracted for oil.' (reference: dictionary.com )

I like the common species of Sunflower found in the hot tropical climate of Malaysia. They are so huge with bright yellow colors that prompt people to take photos for Instagram and Facebook. I got to know this Sunflower Garden also from photos that are posted by my Facebook friends.

Farm owner Khor Weng Kiang, 46 said that there are about 2,000 sunflowers on this 0.8ha farm that is located in Bagan Sungai Burung, Bagan Datuk, Perak. In order to ensure that there are sunflowers blooming always, he has to plant three lots of sunflowers at different stages. He said almost 400 visitors daily to take photos with giant sunflowers. Besides sunflowers there are other activities and instgrammable spots for photos too such as feeding fishes and ducks, swings, stairway to heaven and others.

Stairway to Heaven?

After so many sunflowers and photos, where am I going now? Well, only God knows, right?

We were given a packet of fish food so that we can feed the fish in the pond. There are also ducks and swans by the lake.

Nice Love swing for lovely photos for couples.

The entrance fee is RM 13 for adult, RM10 for children age 7-11 years old and RM5 for Children age 3-6 years old.

Nursery selling all sorts of flowering plants.

Tips on getting here: Drive there by car. I followed Waze but it took me into the small padi field lanes which is only a one-car lane. So, please check the routes and use the bigger highway road although it may show a longer route. One good-hearted local resident who lives in the padi fields came out of his house to tell us to U-turn back and use the highway. Thank you, sir!
